LowCars ("the app") is built to be private by default. This policy explains, in plain language, exactly what the app does and does not do with your data.
LowCars has no user accounts, shows no ads, and uses no advertising or analytics trackers. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information — because we don't collect personal information in the first place.
When you allow it, the app uses your device's location to score the conditions around you. Your coordinates are sent directly from your device to free public data services (listed below) to look up weather, road, and map information for that spot. Your location is not stored on our servers, not linked to your identity, and not used to track you. You can deny or revoke location access at any time in your device settings; the app still works using places you choose manually.
If you report a speed bump, pothole, or road hazard, the app saves only the location, the hazard type, a confirmation count, and a timestamp to our database (hosted by Supabase). These reports contain no personal information and are not tied to you or your device. Reports are automatically deleted after about four months to keep the data current.
The app stores a few preferences on your device only (your last viewed location and saved spots) using your browser's local storage. This never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.
To provide live conditions, the app requests data from these free public services. When it does, your chosen coordinates are included in the request so they can return local results. Each has its own privacy practices:
